Mr W came to Porsche Centre Glasgow to buy his first Porsche from Martin. He brought his two-year-old grandson Max to the dealership with him and expressed how Max is absolutely car crazy already. He had so much fun exploring the showroom and seeing all the cars.
Mr W was taking delivery of his 718 Boxster on Friday 31st May and decided he was going to bring Max back with him for the collection. After they left, Martin decided he would present Max with one of the 918 Spyder electric cars and stayed late the evening before the handover to build the car for Max.
On the morning Mr W and Max were due in, Martin put a car cover over both cars in the handover bay and unveiled them both at the same time. Max was absolutely thrilled with his new car (as was Mr W) and drove around the dealership, happy as Larry. Both the customer and Max’s mum messaged us on social media and said thank you for making the experience so special for Max.
Well done Martin!
Max loved his visit to the showroom and is so happy with his new car! Thanks to Martin and all his colleagues who made his visit a special occasion!

Mr H ordered a new Macan. There were a few delays with the car which meant that his car would be arriving whilst he was on holiday. Mr H has had a previous bad experience at another dealership so Martin went out of his way to rectify his feeling of ill will towards Porsche.
He invited Mr & Mrs H to the dealership on the day they were going on holiday to complete the paperwork but he organised a bottle of champagne for them whilst they were here to get their holiday off to a nice start, as well as organising VIP transport to the airport. Upon their return from holiday, Martin organised the same transport to the centre where he had lunch waiting for them and then they were able to drive their brand new Macan home.
Unfortunately, after a week of ownership, their car developed a misfire and had to be recovered. Martin requested the expertise of Allan Robertson, who regularly kept in contact with Mr H, updating him on his Macan’s progress through the workshop. When the work was complete, Allan personally made the 50 mile trip to Mr H’s home address on a Saturday night to deliver the car back.
Mr H was delighted with the service he received from both Martin and Allan.
Martin Gallagher was highly responsive in terms of communication. He also organised some special arrangements for us allowing us to incorporate the handover process into our holiday travel. Despite the technical issue with the new car, I would like to commend both Martin Gallagher of Sales and Allan Robertson of the Service Team for making sure that they co-ordinated effectively between themselves to ensure that our issue was dealt with as painlessly as possible.
– Mr H
A customer from St. Andrews had their Porsche in for a service one Friday in March. The next day the customer called the centre to say that the end of their wiper blade had snapped off and they needed replacing but they felt it was too far to travel back down especially with the Service Department only being open until 12:30pm on a Saturday.
Our service driver, Alistair, was working on Saturday but was going to a family party on Saturday night in Inverness. When he heard about the customer’s predicament, he offered to make a 70-mile detour to the customer’s house before going to his family party so that he could fit the wiper blades for the customer and ensure they weren’t put under any stress. The customer was absolutely delighted with the outstanding service Alistair provided.
Well done Alistair!
Mr M had his Panamera E-Hybrid booked in with our Service department. When he went to leave his house, he found that the Panamera charging cable from his wall charger was locked on and he couldn’t get it unlocked to remove the cable and leave. He called Porsche Assistance who dispatched a local recovery company to go and rectify the issue but upon arrival discovered that they couldn’t get the charging cable unlocked either.
Growing increasingly frustrated at this point, Mr M called the dealership to ask for assistance. Mr M lives approx. 45 mins away from the dealership so to avoid him waiting for any longer, the Sales Manager called Ross who was on his day off but who lives in the same area as Mr M and asked if he was able to go and try to help. Without hesitation, Ross headed to Mr M’s house and once there, he managed to get the cable unlocked and send Mr M on his way.
Mr M was blown away by Ross’ helpfulness and couldn’t thank him enough for helping out on his day off. Mr M is now even considering ordering a 992 from Ross which he wasn’t planning to do previously.
Well done Ross!
One of Neil’s very good customers was at the centre having their Porsche serviced. They had mentioned to their service advisor that they had just recently welcomed a grandson into the world. The advisor mentioned this to Neil in passing, so he decided to arrange for some gifts to be left in the car for their new grandson and also for the new grandparents.
Needless to say, when Mr & Mrs D picked up their car later that day they were absolutely thrilled with Neil’s thoughtfulness.
Well done Neil!
One of our customers booked a collection and delivery for their Porsche to be dropped off to us for an MOT but while being tested, we discovered that the car needed some work carried out to get it through its MOT. This was an issue, as the customer had been explicit in saying they needed their car back the same day and the technician would be working on it right up until the last minute and ended up working on later to get it finished.
When Alistair was approached about working later to deliver the car back he never hesitated in agreeing to do so. Alistair stayed until 7pm waiting for the work to be completed and then did an hour and a half round trip to deliver the car back to the customer who was delighted we had managed to return it back to him! Well done Alistair.
Denis is a technician at Porsche Centre Glasgow and he is also our only MOT tester. In November, Denis was off on holiday when we had a customer coming from London to collect their new Porsche. When Denis is off on holiday we sub-let our MOTs to a local garage and at the last minute we were let down by them and they couldn’t carry out the MOT test.
We called Denis to see if he would be able to come in and help out with the MOT and, without hesitation, Denis said yes, arriving at the dealership within 15 minutes as he didn’t want anything to impact the customer taking delivery of their new Porsche.
Well done Denis!
Mr and Mrs A came to the showroom looking to buy a Porsche 911. Sean dealt with them both and managed to find them a suitable car for their requirements.
Whilst going through the sales process, Sean discovered that Mr and Mrs A’s son was learning all about the Neil Armstrong and the moon landing and he was to write an essay containing all the information he had learned. Sean spoke to the Sales Manager and asked if it would be ok to send Mr and Mrs A a gift voucher for the cinema so that they could take their son to see The First Man and hopefully gain some extra knowledge for his school task. They were absolutely delighted with Sean’s kind and thoughtful gesture.
One of our customers was buying his daughter a 718 Boxster as a surprise for her 21st birthday and the car needed to be physical and on the road by her birthday. Craig made sure that everything was in place and ready to go.
On the morning of the handover, Craig decorated the car with birthday banners and balloons. When the customer and his daughter arrived she was absolutely delighted as she thought she was just coming in to look at cars and hers was sitting decorated in our handover bay ready and waiting for her. Craig also got a birthday cake for her and had the girls from reception bring it over once she was settled.
The customers were blown away by Craig’s service, especially as he had come in to do the handover during his annual leave. Well done Craig!
Mrs H had lost her parents recently and decided that her Porsche Cayenne held too many painful memories of them so she wanted to trade it in. When Martin dealt with her initially, he discovered that she had owned the car from new since 2004 and she was really quite distressed about giving it up.
When the day came to trade her old car in and take delivery of her new 911 Carrera GTS she became very emotional and even started crying. Martin took her old Cayenne straight to the compound as she was afraid she might change her mind. When she opened her handover gift, Martin had taken a photo of her old Cayenne and her new 911 Carrera GTS sitting side by side and put it in the frame. She was absolutely delighted with this lovely touch. Martin also took some pictures of her old Cayenne on its own and when he called her the next day to follow up with her, he emailed them over to her which she loved and said she was going to get them printed out.
On Thursday 19th July, Dylan took a phone call from a customer who was looking to have a roof box fitted to his Cayenne for going on holiday. The only issue was that the customer was going on holiday on the afternoon of Friday 20th July! He had already gone to his local Halfords and they had let him down so he phoned Dylan on the chance we might have had one in stock, which we didn’t.
Dylan asked the customer to leave it with him to see if he could sort something for him. He then managed to order the required roof box and ensured its delivery on Friday morning. He then had to liaise with the workshop to try and get the car squeezed into their already full diary but he managed it. Dylan called the customer back to let him know the good news.
The customer came in first thing on Friday morning and waited in the showroom enjoying some coffee and biscuits while his roof box was fitted. He was on his way by lunchtime and he was delighted with all of the effort Dylan had put in to making it happen for him.
On Friday 29 June one of our customers was collecting his brand new 718 Boxster. During a conversation with the customer on one of his previous visits to the centre Elaine (our host leader) and Micaela (our new host) discovered that he was collecting his car on his 50th birthday.
On the morning of the handover, Elaine and Micaela went and bought him “5” and “0” balloons and a birthday cake. They had the balloons sitting by his car waiting for him and after he unveiled his car, they brought over his birthday cake and sang happy birthday to him. The customer was absolutely delighted and had great fun posing with his balloons and cake in front of his brand new Boxster.
Fraser took a booking call from a customer who wanted to book his Macan S Diesel in for a showroom standard valet as his daughter was getting married at the weekend and he was using his car as her wedding car. While the car was with us, Fraser ran over to the shopping centre and bought a wedding card for the customer’s daughter as well as a few boxes of confetti and left them in the car.
He was absolutely delighted with Fraser’s kind gesture and emailed him to say thanks.
Well done Fraser!
The service is always great. But you pulled out all the stops with the personal touch last week. The card and confetti were nice touches. The wedding was awesome and the car was sparkling. Although I had to dust it on Saturday morning due to the weather being so hot and dusty. It’s still gleaming.

One of our most prolific and loyal customers is due to take delivery of his one-of-a-kind 911 Turbo S Exclusive Edition. His long-term Sales Executive, Craig Young, has been instrumental in helping him select the right options and transforming an already special car into a truly unique example.
Craig has spent hours working through the minute details to make sure all bases have been covered and took two days personal time out of the business to accompany the customer to an unveiling event which truly embodied the spirit of ‘Making it Special’ for this customer.
One of our customers had their car booked in to our Service department for a 111pt check and warranty with a Collection & Delivery during the really bad snow. Alistair made his way to the customer’s house but when he got there, the customer’s car was snowed in and she couldn’t get it out. Alistair headed back to the dealership, retrieved a shovel and returned to the customer’s house. He dug her car out and managed to get it to the dealership so that the new warranty could be put on her car before it ran out.
The customer was absolutely delighted with the service Alistair provided! Well done Alistair.
Mr Morris had flown up from London to collect his new Cayenne S E-Hybrid on a Sunday morning. His Sales Executive, Stuart, had taken him through the handover process and just as he was getting ready to depart a warning light started flashing on the dashboard.
With it being a Sunday, the service department was closed so there was no one on hand to look at the car. Stuart called one of our technicians, Denis, who lives locally to ask for some advice on what could be wrong but rather than discuss it over the phone Denis jumped in his car and came along to the dealership. He took Mr Morris’ car into the workshop and put a tester on it and managed to have Mr Morris back on the road with only a small delay to his journey.
Well done Denis!
Robert Taylor was due to be coming in to collect his new car from Sean. In the days leading up to his delivery day, Scotland was hit by snow and Glasgow was affected particularly badly. On the morning of his delivery, Mr Taylor’s wife was going to have to drive him to the dealership as his part exchange was already here but she didn’t feel safe enough driving to the dealership in the wintery conditions.
Sean took one of the Cayenne demonstrators and made the treacherous drive to Mr Taylor’s house and brought them both to the dealership. Mr Taylor was absolutely delighted that he was still able to collect his car all thanks to Sean!
Mrs Harris was travelling from England to visit her family in Dunoon for the festive period. On her way to get the ferry she got a puncture, so she called the dealership and spoke to Allan who told her to bring her car in.
Unfortunately, by the time she made it to the dealership all of our technicians had finished for the evening. Mrs Harris became stressed that she was going to miss her ferry so Allan took it upon himself to find the puncture using a spray bottle of water and squeezing on the wheel until he could see bubbles. Once the puncture was located he then changed the wheel over to the spare and sent Mrs Harris on her way. She made the ferry to Dunoon and had a lovely festive period with her family.
Mr Fraser purchased himself a 911 Cabriolet from Martin in November. Mr Fraser works offshore and there were only 2 days in November when he was back home. When trying to arrange delivery of the car, he found out that one of the two days Mr Fraser was home was his 50th Birthday.
Martin organised delivery for this day without letting Mr Fraser know that he knew it was his birthday. When Mr Fraser arrived Martin had banners and balloons all over Mr Fraser’s 911 and even bought him a birthday cake. Martin also gifted Mr Fraser a driving experience at Silverstone.
To say Mr Fraser was delighted is an understatement!
Well done Martin!
A customer was preparing to take his Boxster to Switzerland when his oxygen sensor failed; he was due to leave on Saturday and his sensor failed on Wednesday.
He brought his Boxster in but we didn’t have a sensor available in time for him leaving. Fraser made it his mission to locate a sensor for the customer so as not to delay his trip. He eventually managed to source one and got the customer back on the road just in time to head off to Switzerland.
Well done Fraser!
