Porsche Centre Glasgow

Sean Huxter

Trainee Sales Executive

Award Winner,

Winner first place

Mr Harris came into the dealership at 17.30 on a Monday evening. He had been to a local Jaguar dealership to collect his new F-Type which he had waited 6 months for. The car specification was not as he ordered and this was the second time this happened to the customer. He left the Jaguar dealership without his new car and was feeling disgruntled with motor dealers as a whole.

Whilst in Porsche Glasgow, Mr Harris fell in love with a Cayman in the showroom. In order to make the experience special for Mr Harris after tying the deal up, Sean Huxter our Trainee Sales Executive and ex-technician spent time well after business hours to activate the tracker and fit number plates to the Cayman demonstrator so Mr Harris could still go home that night in a new car and put the bad experience from the Jaguar dealers behind him.

Mr Harris was absolutely delighted that Sean went to such an effort to make purchasing a car an easy and pleasurable experience. His efforts have guaranteed we have a customer for life.

Shaun Coyle

Apprentice Technician

One Friday night Shaun was getting ready to leave for the weekend and was going to visit his poorly girlfriend in the hospital when the Service department received an irate call from a rather tricky customer, whom we had an issue with earlier in the day.

The customer was demanding that someone drive to his house and fit new centre caps to his wheels. The department was frantically trying to rectify the situation and calm the customer down but didn’t have anyone available to drive to the customer’s house that night. When Shaun heard what was happening he offered to go to the customer’s house before going to visit his girlfriend. Shaun saved the day and stopped a tricky customer from becoming furious.

Well done Shaun!

Catriona Provan

Host

A woman came in to the dealership all flustered and when she got to the reception desk she burst into tears. Catriona stepped in and calmed the woman down and discovered that she had broken down on the busy dual carriage way outside of the dealership at rush hour. Catriona got the woman a seat and a cup of tea and then went about organising some help from the technicians who pushed the woman’s car over the central reservation and into the dealership. Catriona then waited with the woman until she organised recovery for her car and then arranged a taxi to take the woman home.

The woman was blown away buy Catriona’s kindness and was extremely grateful for everyone’s help.

Well done Catriona!

Stuart Wallace

Sales Executive

Mr McEwan and his son visited the dealership on Sunday 11th June. It was Mr McEwan’s son’s 12th birthday and he wanted to look at all the Porsches. Stuart spoke to them both and discovered that the boy’s favourite Porsche was the 911 GT3 RS and by chance we had one in the showroom. Stuart took him upstairs, showed him our Ultraviolet 911 GT3 RS and even let him sit in it and have his picture taken. The boy was over the moon and Mr McEwan sent in a lovely thank you email.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to a male member of staff who made my wee boy’s birthday today - apologies I didn’t catch his name but he went out of his way to allow my little boy on his 12th birthday to sit in the Porsche GT3 RS - his dream car. You made his birthday, a dream come true! Touch of class - please pass on my best regards.
– Mr McEwan

Craig Young

Sales Executive

Mr & Mrs Sethna were recently holidaying in Scotland and decided to pop into the dealership as it’s always been Mr Sethna’s dream to own a 911. They had no intention of buying anything, they just wanted to have a look around and get a little bit of information. Craig stepped in and spent 3 hours with the couple, sharing his wealth of knowledge with them. Craig’s customer experience was so good that Mr & Mrs Sethna ended up purchasing a 911 from Glasgow and even arranged factory a delivery.

My husband and I visited the Porsche dealership in Glasgow on Monday 1st May and spent 3 hours with Sales Executive Craig Young. Craig was absolutely fantastic! He was patient, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He used his 15 years of experience to guide us through the many options and helped us to construct a Porsche 911 that we are really excited and delighted with. Craig helped us to have the confidence to place an order, which we will be doing in the next few days, after many years of my husband dreaming of purchasing a 911. My husband and I would be grateful if you could pass on our sincere thanks and appreciation to Craig and the whole team!

Allan Robertson

Service Advisor

Being a very successful and therefore a very busy businessman, Mr Cattanach was in a race against time to collect his car from the dealership one Saturday afternoon by the 12:30 closing time, as he needed his car for the following day. Allan Robertson realised that Mr Cattanach was under pressure and didn’t hesitate on waiting for him after the department had closed which absolutely delighted Mr Cattanach, so much so that he sent an email to Sytner to commend Allan on his customer service!

I would like to compliment all on the service experience I have recently received. Allan at the service department accommodated every request and provided an exemplary customer service experience. In addition I was astonished to learn that he had stayed at the dealership 3 hours past his finishing time on Saturday just to hand my car back and check that I was happy. I’m truly shocked and very impressed especially as I was aware that the department closed early on a Saturday. In view of the above this individual should be recognised throughout the group for a level of customer satisfaction that excels beyond expectations.

Neil Ross

Sales Executive

Mr Ashraf was collecting his car on the 1st of March. Whilst chatting and organising his collection, Neil found out that it was Mr Ashraf’s birthday on the same day. Before Mr Ashraf arrived on the 1st of March, Neil put birthday banners and a balloon on his car. When he arrived, Neil had Happy Birthday playing on our sound bar and even had a Birthday cake with candles for him. Mr and Mrs Ashraf were absolutely delighted by this gesture so much so that they handed in some cupcakes to say thanks and gave us some lovely comments on Porsche Passion.

Well done Neil!

The experience has been excellent. Staff at welcome desk were exceptional and arranging a birthday cake for me when picking up the car was a nice touch. Neil Ross has always been great with myself and family members over the years and made my first Porsche buying experience one to remember. He helped throughout the time I had been looking for a used Porsche and kept me informed through the process of the car’s whereabouts, prep, cherished plate transfer etc. The car looked new when I came to pick it up and has been a joy since.

Craig Young

Sales Executive

One of our customers had ordered a 718 Boxster for his wife as a surprise and, it just so happened that the day they were coming in to collect was Valentine’s Day.

Mrs Brooks thought they were coming in to view the Boxster but in actual fact she was going to be driving away in it. Since it was Valentine’s Day, Craig decided to order Mrs Brooks a bouquet of roses too. Both Mr and Mrs Brooks were delighted when they turned up to collect the car, even more so when they saw the bouquet of roses Craig had ordered.

Well done Craig!

The whole Porsche team were excellent but in particular Craig Young. Presenting my wife with a lovely Boxster and a dozen red roses on Valentine’s day made it more special so thank you.
– Mr Brooks

Derek Stewart

Technician

One of our customers and his wife were going to drive through Europe on holiday. On the morning they were due to depart, the customer realised his Panamera had developed an oil leak. A bit panicked (understandably) he called the Centre and spoke with one of our Service Advisors, who dispatched Derek to the customer’s house. Armed with his tools, Derek arrived 20 minutes later and set about diagnosing and rectifying the oil leak. An hour later Derek was finished and the customer and his wife were able to set off on their journey as planned. He was so happy that he sent us in a quick thank you email.

My Porsche developed an oil leak at a most inconvenient time. After a call to Sean Huxter, he dispatched a mechanic as soon as was possible to effect a repair. The mechanic whose name I forgot, did an excellent job, and explained the cause of the leak. Big thanks to all.

Ross McElwee & John Millar

Preparation Manager & Sales Executive

Mr and Mrs Weir were looking to purchase a new Porsche Macan and had visited a few different dealerships to try and find their perfect car but one of the deciding factors for them was that they wanted a shortened number plate plinth. Each dealer had told them that this was available. Mr and Mrs Weir saw our Macan Turbo and fell in love instantly. They put a deposit down on the car and once again asked about the shortened plinth. John their Sales Exec spoke to our parts dept and was told it wasn’t available, not happy with this as he knew how important it was, he then spoke to Ross our Preparation Manager and together they spoke to our Porsche Approved body shop and had a shortened plinth made and colour coded to match their Macan Turbo.

On the day of collection Mr and Mrs Weir were absolutely delighted to see the custom shortened plinth and couldn’t thank John and Ross enough, they said it was little touches like this that made Porsche and Porsche Centre Glasgow in particular fantastic, when it comes to the customer experience.

Well done John and Ross!

Martin Gallagher

Sales Executive

Mr Tyrell wrote in to us to ask if he could bring his daughter along to the Centre for a visit. Erin is 9 years old and is a complete petrol head! Erin received an outstanding report card at school and Mr Tyrell wanted to bring her along for a visit as a well done treat.

We invited Mr Tyrell, Erin and his wife along for a visit to the centre one Sunday and Martin spent some time with them on arrival. He gave them a tour around the dealership, let Erin take photos in her favourite cars, gave her some posters and he even took her and Mr Tyrell out for a test drive. I received an email and a thank you card from Erin and Mr Tyrell expressing their gratitude. They all had an amazing day at the centre and it was all thanks to Martin’s time and patience with them.

I just want to thank you so much for arranging what was an amazing day for Erin. She was speechless! She got to sit in so many cars and Martin took us out for a drive in one. Look out in the post for a thank you card and pass on my thanks to Martin, he was amazing with Erin and made sure it was a day she’ll never forget. Many thanks once again!

For the last four years, Porsche Centre Glasgow has run a ‘Big Day Out’ for the terminally ill children and families of CHAS Robin House. The event begins at Robin House, team members from PCG take Porsches to the hospice and meet everyone who will be joining us, we then head in convoy to the Rest and Be Thankful. Once there, we take the children and their families up and down the old military road which is a private road in the Porsches and everyone involved absolutely loves it!

Every year John manages to make the event bigger and better – he even managed to arrange a police escort from the hospice to The Rest and Be Thankful! John does everything he can to make it a special day for all involved. We have now formed a great bond with the owners of the old military road, a local catering company, the traffic police, customers who have attended and of course the staff and families at CHAS Robin House who are always only too happy to help all thanks to John’s passion for ‘Giving Something Back’ to the community.

Sean Huxter & Allan Robertson

Service Advisors

Once again Sean and Allan have proved that they know how to make all of our customers feel special. Mr Dryburgh wasn’t entirely comfortable visiting our centre as he claims he doesn’t have as much money as our “normal” customers but Sean and Allan went out of their way to make Mr Dryburgh feel welcomed and just as valued as anyone else who walks through the dealership doors. Mr Dryburgh gave them both some lovely comments!

I have been very impressed and slightly taken aback at how well both Sean and Allan have looked after me. Excellent customer service, and I feel comforted that there are professional employees at Porsche Glasgow who now know me. This is especially pleasing as my Porsche is not a new car, nor am I able to purchase the more modern Porsche Motor Cars stocked by your main dealers on my ‘pocket money’ nevertheless, I am secure in the knowledge that the main Porsche dealer gives personal attention, advice and service for enthusiasts with the older generation of cars like my own. It is for this reason, I have extolled their virtues on owners forums where I hope other owners will support the main dealer as opposed to specialists.

Well done Sean and Allan!

Mr Ingram had previously had a very disappointing experience when trying to book his car in at another Centre for some service work. This experience left a very bad taste in his mouth and made him reluctant to use another OPC but he called Porsche Centre Glasgow’s Service Department as he didn’t want to take his pride and joy to any old garage. He was put through to Allan who dealt with Mr Ingram’s requests efficiently. Mr Ingram was delighted by the service he received from Allan who was friendly and professional from start to finish and sent in a lovely email about his experience:

Allan was very helpful gathering the information up front about what the car needed.
I especially liked the effort in sending the email, outlining the things the car was coming in for as that’s the bit where you get the chance to add other bits you more than likely forget to ask about on the first call, so that was very useful. On reflection the service was outstanding and I will not hesitate to call again for more work as the car is due a few items under warranty and also over the winter. The mints and water are a nice gesture as sitting in traffic around Braehead at 5.30pm isn’t the best!

Daniel Anderson

Parts Advisor

Mr Carter from Nuneaton in Warwickshire was trying to restore a 1968 911 when he hit a bit of a snag. He needed to replace the two front wings but was having great difficulty sourcing them, he had tried all the Porsche Dealers in his area and a few other specialists but could not locate them anywhere. During his hunt for the wings, Mr Carter was advised to contact Daniel Anderson here at PCG as he had helped locate other Porsche Classic parts previously.

Daniel began the hunt for the wings and after a couple of days of searching, he managed to locate the two wings that Mr Carter required so he ordered them and informed the customer. Mr Carter was absolutely delighted to receive Daniel’s call as he was beginning to give up hope of ever finding them. As soon as the wings arrived at the Centre, Daniel got them sent off to Mr Carter to allow him to resume his restoration. Not only did Daniel delight Mr Carter with his great customer service and persistence but he also made over £2000 for the dealership. Well done Daniel, this is a prime example of ‘Getting it Right’ and ‘Making it Special’!

Stuart Wallace

Sales Executive

Stuart recently sold a car to a couple from London. The couple left London on the train at 7am to make their way to the dealership where Stuart was going to collect them from the train station. Stuart left the dealership and went to the train station but he made a stop at Costa first and got the couple a coffee each for getting off the train which they were extremely grateful for as they mentioned below in their Porsche Passion comments:

Stuart Wallace picked us up from Glasgow Central Station and met us with a cup of fresh coffee which was a very nice touch. He is a pleasure to deal with and a very positive advocate of the brand. Taking a presentation photograph of the car with my wife and daughter was also appreciated. Dominic Bell and Robbie Berry run a very tight ship at Glasgow Porsche and deserve a lot of credit for their professional approach to customer satisfaction. It is unusual in my experience to find such good customer service in the car trade. I have dealt with other Porsche Centres in the past and this is by far the best.
